Ideating with AI: The Tools Drew Binsky Uses to Save Time & Increase Efficiency
Hi there. If you’ve ever had a yellow dollar sign show up on your YouTube video (indicating limited monetization), you’ll now have a better idea of what the issue is. YouTube has launched a new feature that will add timestamps to let creators know what parts of the video violated their guidelines when a video is restricted. This began rolling out on May 21 and is currently just available on desktop. Learn more about YouTube’s new limited monetization feature here.

Drew Binsky Increases Efficiency and Saves Time with Spotter’s AI Software

Since he started testing Spotter’s AI creative suite of products in the summer of 2023, Drew Binsky has saved an average of six hours per week, not only freeing up valuable time but also getting ahead of his video-planning process. He has also increased efficiency, noting that he can now find video ideas more easily without having to scour the internet for hours.
Increasing efficiency in the pre-production process can be critical for any creator, but especially one that spends a significant amount of time on the road. That’s certainly the case for Drew. A travel creator who’s been to every country in the world, he films content about inspiring people, hidden cultures, and wild adventures in faraway places.
Strategy:
Drew uses several Spotter AI features, including Idea Generator, Title Exploder, Idea Workshop, Trend Spotter, Thumbnail Explorer, and Title Roulette to help increase pre-production efficiency. These tools help him discover new ideas and enhance his storytelling by spotting trending videos his audience also watches and generating ideas in his unique style based on those data-backed insights. Rather than spending a significant amount of time searching online for ideas and inspiration as he previously did, he can now make his research and ideation more efficient by generating relevant ideas with ease in one place.
He starts with Idea Generator and Title Exploder to enhance his brainstorming sessions. Drew explains, “I'm using it a lot for brainstorming. And then I basically have a big spreadsheet of 1,000 ideas, but I kind of condense them down using Spotter to help.”
He uses Idea Generator to streamline his content creation process. “It's really easy to use – a click of a button,” Drew says. “I really don't have to think, I just plug in one thought, and it gives you 1,000 thoughts.” These ideas are personalized to his channel and style, and pulled based on a mix of his successful videos and trending videos from other creators who share his audience.
He leverages Idea Workshop to plan storytelling elements. “It’s really helpful to follow a story and look for pretend conflicts,” he says. “So that's kind of how I've been using this Spotter AI tool the most, and that's very helpful.”
“[Spotter products] have made things a lot easier to find stories and to find ideas… It's super helpful for us that we can just have everything at the click of a mouse button. It's pretty easy to get all these things that we need.”
