How One Creator Doubled His Views With a New Packaging Strategy
Hi there! With AI-generated content on the rise, YouTube recently announced that it will require creators to inform viewers when they post realistic-looking altered or synthetic content. This is part of the company’s larger approach to responsible AI, which they are rolling out in the coming months to help ensure that viewers aren’t misled into thinking that something is real when it isn’t. As a creator, you’ll have new options to select when uploading content to indicate that it contains realistic, altered, or synthetic material. Of course, this is new territory for creators and platforms alike, so there are sure to be more developments ahead. If you’re interested in using AI tools to help streamline pre-production processes and provide top-notch ideation capabilities, reach out to us to learn more about Spotter’s AI tools!

Smokin’ and Grillin with AB Sees Impressive Results With New Packaging Strategy
You know the feeling. You’re creating content but your views are declining, and you’re beginning to feel like you’re in a rut. Well, sometimes, all it takes is a revamped thumbnail strategy to get things back on track.
Aaron Brown of Smokin’ and Grillin with AB discovered this firsthand. He was seeing declining views and revenue, along with low performance in YouTube browse features traffic. After working with Spotter and our expert-in-residence Jay Alto to focus on a new packaging strategy, which included thumbnails and titles, he made it an integral part of the pre-production and production process and began to see significant results.
As a result of his new strategy, videos were once again regularly breaking the 100K-view threshold, impressions increased dramatically with no negative impact on click-through rates, and revenue increased substantially. In addition, channel traffic shifted towards browse features, like the homepage and subscription feed, which is helping to bring in an influx of new viewers and get the channel growing again.

Strategy:
Develop thumbnails that appeal to the widest audience possible and clearly convey the meaning of the video.
Develop titles that clearly state the video’s purpose.

Results:
Double the views and 2x+ impressions YoY.
5x+ traffic from NEW viewers YoY.
350% more traffic from browse features since the beginning of 2023.
Key Insights:
Making thumbnails and title ideation an important part of your production and packaging optimization process can help drive better click-through rates.
Develop clear thumbnails that appeal to a wide audience and convey the value proposition of your video.
Bottom Line:
Being strategic in developing thumbnails and titles can help increase views and traffic for your videos, as it did for Aaron. Make sure these elements aren’t an afterthought but an important part of your production process.
